Description |
Clothes press in the French taste. Flat top with applied rounded and molded cornice with rounded corners. Case is joined and pegged with pairs of pegs. Plain paneled sides with cross member at middle, all members in the same plane. Two full-length paneled doors conceal storage with three shelves that span the full width of the case. The paneled doors are mitered at the corners. A cross rail at the middle of the doors is mitered into the stiles to form triangular ends without the use of pegs. The doors are finished with beaded edges and hang on four long columnar brass hinges with finials at the tops and bottoms. An applied molding on the edge of the right door creates a seal. Scalloped apron. Low serpentine French feet. Scrolling foliate escutcheon for keyhole. |
